Lovers of antiques, like us, many times they find pieces that they do not know very well how to take advantage of, but they want and want with all their strength. You can pass for example with a chair. Those old chairs whose upholstery tells us absolutely nothing but that have such an attractive structure that we can not stop looking at them.
Well, today we share an idea to be able to take advantage of those old chairs. How? So, how planters; and is that a little work, care and skill, will make these old chairs become a key piece in our yard or even inside our home.
For this, the first thing we must do is to see if our piece has problems in its structure. If not, great, we will have a “healthy” chair that we can sand and paint, or leave it in the original color, and continue with our work to turn it into a planter.
However, if it has problems in its structure, we will have to treat the piece correctly, making the necessary adjustments; You may even need the help of a carpenter or specialist.
Once we have this point clear, we will proceed to shuffle the option of leaving it in the original color or painting it. If we want to modify it, it will be better to sand it to remove a bit the remains of the previous treatment and to open the pore of the wood, in this way, the paint or varnish that we apply will adhere better.
If we want our chair to be a planter we have no choice but to remove the part that makes the seat. It will be this space that will be responsible for holding our flower pot full of flowers. We just have to find a container that fits into that space.
As we can see the result is fantastic, creating a really original piece that we can place in any corner of our house. A true DIY planter!
